Stobart: Trucks, Trains and Planes

The hit observational documentary series following British haulage giant Eddie Stobart continues, bigger than ever and with a brand new title. ‘Stobart: Trucks, Trains and Planes’ hits the road, rails and runway following this ever-expanding business.

This series follows the company’s ambitious plans as they take flight at Southend Airport, which Stobart now owns, expanding the facilities to welcome more passengers than ever. It is also full steam ahead in the company’s rail division as the team undertakes some major time-sensitive rail repairs. Trucking and truckers, however, remain at the heart of the Stobart empire.

SHINE Television worked closely with Shooting Partners as kit supplier for this well loved Channel 5 show.

The production team also took up the offer of full training on all of the equipment used during the series supplied by Shooting Partners.

Sennheiser-Radio-Mic-kit_300h“There are several reasons we offer training sessions for our clients” says Tony Mawby, Technical Manager at Shooting Partners. “Firstly, to make our clients more comfortable using the equipment and get better results, but also to try and prevent losses, damages or unnecessary lost time on location”.

“We like to cover key features such as gain, timecode, audio, peaking, zebras, naming conventions, formatting, white balance, viewfinder setup” adds Mawby, “plus anything else that is specific to the shoot such as output setup and or timecode sync.

“Most of the questions center around audio set ups, which we answer by looking at radio mics, fault finding and common mistakes”. “Our aim is to make everything simple. People get scared of audio but by simplifying it we can help clients to think more rationally about it, especially when under pressure!”
