LED FLEXABILITY HELPS CREATE THE SET FOR STRICTLY AFRICAN DANCING

The creative use of the LED screen was maximised on the set of BBC1's Strictly African Dancing for the live broadcast on July 9th.

Anna Valley supplied 121 Toshiba 6mm panels in an 11x11 configuration. A special raised floor was constructed with a custom steel frame to support the LED panels with a strong Perspex floor above.

The LED screen displayed a multitude of custom graphics from the studio gallery. These ranged from a map of the African continent to animated patterns plus clouds and fire, creating an impressive dancing on fire effect. During the Lion King sequence, smoke mist was added, creating a glowing fluorescent pool.
