ANNA VALLEY DISPLAYS DELIVER - THE 'X' FACTOR
Anna Valley Displays has again been chosen by Talkback Thames to deliver a multitude of state of the art display technology for the ITV live studio series of THE X FACTOR.
THE X FACTOR is probably the most lavish LE series on UK television. The production team from Talkback Thames and Simon Cowell have aimed to take television production design up to new heights and produce a genuine "wow factor".
This was delivered by production designer, Florian Wieder, who worked closely with Anna Valley Displays to incorporate 6 moving high-resolution LED displays. These moving LED doors are used as devices for the judges to introduce the competing new artists.
The LED doors can feature 'glamour' shots of the acts, close up camera shots of performances or lighting effects patterns. Two large projection screens are used on the extremes of the set and a multitude of ninth generation Plasma displays form integral elements of the set design.
All of the displays are used during the Saturday night live shows for up to 4 hours, fed by cameras, video-servers or driven by lighting effects generated by Lighting Director, Dave Davey.
All the displays were selected for their ability to match colourimetry and have minimal, compatible video processing delay. This coupled with stability and reliability for the live shows, on itv1 and itv2, were mandatory requirements of the Director Jonathan Bullen.
