ANNA VALLEY DISPLAYS DELIVER 2009 series of - THE 'X' FACTOR
Anna Valley Displays has again been chosen by Talkback Thames to deliver a multitude of state of the art display technology for the ITV live 2009 studio series of THE X FACTOR.
THE X FACTOR is probably the most advanced and lavish set design of any live light entertainment series on UK television. The production team from Talkback Thames and Simon Cowell have aimed to take television production design to a completely new level delivering a very special and innovative look and design.
This was delivered by production designer, Florian Wieder, who worked closely with Anna Valley Displays to incorporate 9 led displays including 3 sets of high-resolution LED opening Portal displays. These moving LED doors are used as devices for the judges to introduce the competing new artists, and as impressive entrances for the Star guests.
The LED doors can feature 'glamour' shots of the acts, close up camera shots during performances stylish graphics or lighting effects patterns. The floor and ceiling deploy hundreds of Barco Mistrip LED batons several hundred meters of Schnik Schnak and a multitude of ninth generation Plasma displays form integral elements of the set design.
All of the displays are used during the Saturday and Sunday night live shows, fed by cameras, video-servers or driven by lighting effects generated by Lighting Director, Dave Davey.
All the displays were selected for their ability to match colourimetry and have minimal, compatible video processing delay. This coupled with stability and reliability for the live shows, on itv1 and itv2, were mandatory requirements of the Director Jonathan Bullen.
