Charity Rally

Shooting Partners sponsored a member of its facilities team in a charity drive which took place in September. Along with his brother and two friends, Shooting Partners' Nick Payne undertook a 1200mile car rally, fundraising for charity.

As Nick explains: 'We were taking part in an organised car rally across France, Switzerland and Italy, finishing back in France on the Riviera. 1200 miles over three days sounds fairly easy eh? No, the catch is the car used must be an old banger worth about £200!'

Day1 was a gruelling 400 miles plus from Boulogne to Besancon, Day 2 saw us enter Switzerland, past Lake Geneva and then over the top of the Alps on the Grand St. Bernard Pass, down to Turin. The final day was back into France through Monaco, ending up in Nice.

While the rally was designed for fun, we used the event as a fundraiser for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service. The Air Ambulance is desperately underfunded, and to keep providing this life saving service the charity needs to raise £7200 per day to keep both of Yorkshire's Air Ambulances maintained and in the air. The generosity that they receive is the life blood of the charity and without this generosity, they would not be able to provide the service.
