POWERBOAT P1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The UIM Powerboat P1 World Championship brings together an international field of competitors in highly powered twin-engine racing machines to create an exhilarating occasion, at specially chosen venues, for competitive racing and public enjoyment.

Shooting Partners Facilities supplied equipment and camera operators to RES who were providing television coverage of the event season. The events were shot using four Sony DSR570 camcorders and an assortment of lenses including a CANON HJ40 & IS20B Stabiliser for use in a helicopter. As part of the package Shooting Partners Facilities were asked to provide a solution to enable the P1 pilots to operate the minicam kits without them having any technical knowledge of the equipment. Our solution was to provide a fully remote minicam system that when rigged could be operated at the flick of a switch and would also indicate the recording status of the kit.
