Professor Brian Cox OBE to Keynote IBC2014’s Exploration of TV’s Future

Multiple award-winning broadcaster and CERN physicist Professor Brian Cox OBE is confirmed to lead the IBC2014 Conference keynote session on Sunday 14 September with a mind-bending perspective on the future of television. Renowned for presenting hit TV programmes like ‘The Wonders of the Solar System’, the charismatic scientist says he was inspired by the landmark PBS TV series ‘Cosmos’ to become a physicist. Today, he is inspiring a new generation of inquiring minds via television, social media and the web with lucid explanations of life, the universe and everything.

In a special IBC keynote session titled ‘Television’s Expanding Universe’, Cox will give his unique take on the impact of television’s expansion since ‘Cosmos’ first aired in 1980 and share his predictions for how storytelling and technology may evolve in what promises to be a memorable session for all delegates. This keynote forms the anchor to IBC’s Conference Programme on Sunday 14 September which takes a closer look at the impact of new technologies on broadcasting such as advanced transmission techniques, big data and multi-screen interactivity.
