How to scan and sync Sennheiser G3 radio mics:

These are the tried and tested Sennheiser G3 EW100 radio mics, easy to use and perfect for transmitting professional quality audio.

Perhaps the most overlooked features are scan and sync. Learning and using these features will help you get the most out of them (radio mics) and help you avoid any frequency and interference issues throughout your production.

First we will scan the airwaves far any available frequencies. Using the receiver navigate to easy setup, within this menu select scan new list. The receiver will now scan the entire range to find the optimum frequency; this process will take a minute. Once complete the reciever will display the optimum bank and how many free channels are within it. Select one and your receiver is now tuned in to the free frequency.

Now you have your desired frequency selected on your receiver, you want to make sure it matches the transmitter. The easiest way to do this is to select sync in the receiver menu, then line up the infra-red lights on the transmitter and receiver. The receiver screen will show a tick when complete. The RF light on your receiver will shine green when it has a solid connection. Double checking both home screens are showing the same frequency and you’re all set.

Getting into the habit of scanning and syncing at every new location should eliminate any issues with interference.
